At Seaqualize, we make the sea work for you

We specialize in smart heave-compensation solutions that turn challenging offshore conditions into smooth, safe, and efficient operations. By combining cutting-edge engineering with a deep understanding of offshore lifting, we help our clients install faster, reduce risk, and save costs. Our mission is simple: to enable the next generation of offshore energy and subsea projects with innovative, reliable, and sustainable lifting technology.

About Seaqualize

Balanced heave compensation

This is how our technology works

At Seaqualize, we balance the weight of heavy loads so that they move effortlessly with the sea.
Our patented Balanced Heave Compensation (BHC) system combines passive and active control: the load is first perfectly balanced by hydro-pneumatic energy storage, and then fine-tuned in real time with active control.

This hybrid setup makes the load feel nearly weightless — allowing cranes and lifting systems to follow vessel motion smoothly, without fighting against full load weight.

Key benefit

Because our system is perfectly balanced, all motion compensation power can be achieved in a compact, hook-mounted unit — no large winches, cylinders, or deck-integrated AHC systems required.

This makes the entire heave compensation system smaller, lighter, and easier to mobilize.
It can be installed on any crane or lifting setup without modification, turning a standard crane into a high-performance motion-compensated tool in hours, not weeks.

The result: true plug-and-play heave compensation — compact, flexible, and ready wherever you need it.

A Smarter Way to Compensate Motion

Conventional Active Heave Compensation (AHC) systems are built into the vessel and constantly spool heavy winches to stay geostationary.
They’re powerful — but also costly, energy-intensive, and limited.

Seaqualize’s Balanced Heave Compensation (BHC) takes a smarter approach.
Our system sits at the hook, measures motion where it matters, and balances the load itself — not the whole crane.
That gives higher accuracy, no wire wear, and enables transfer lifts between moving vessels.
Unlike AHC, BHC provides true 3D compensation, works modularly without vessel integration, and avoids the high CAPEX of built-in systems.

In short: lighter, more precise, and ready when you need it — without the complexity of AHC.

Market opportunity

The offshore lifting and installation market is evolving toward greater flexibility, efficiency, and sustainability.
While heavy-lift vessels remain essential, most of the global fleet operates with standard, non-compensated cranes — limiting safe offshore handling in waves.
Traditional AHC systems are large, costly, and permanently built into only a handful of specialized vessels.

Seaqualize’s hook-mounted Balanced Heave Compensation (BHC) makes precision motion-compensated lifting available to the entire fleet.
Our compact, modular system turns any conventional crane into a high-performance offshore tool — without modification, integration, or long mobilization times.

This opens opportunities across:

  • Offshore wind and floating wind: component transfer, cable terminations, maintenance
  • Oil & Gas and subsea: heavy equipment deployment, recovery, and installation
  • Marine construction and transport: safe vessel-to-vessel or vessel-to-structure transfers

With thousands of active cranes worldwide and strong demand for cost-efficient, low-energy operations, the potential market for portable heave compensation is large, global, and still underserved.
Seaqualize’s technology unlocks that opportunity.

Technology validation & milestones

Since 2017, Seaqualize has turned a bold concept — balancing heavy loads in motion — into a proven, commercial technology that’s redefining offshore lifting.

Fundamentals testing

Established the physics and control foundations of Balanced Heave Compensation (BHC), proving the principle in early prototypes and lab trials.

First partner product

Partnered with Ampelmann to integrate BHC into the world’s first motion-compensated gangway — validating the technology in real offshore conditions.

Scale model testing

Developed and tested a full scale-up sequence from 50 kg to 600 mt payloads, demonstrating BHC’s scalability, reliability, and energy efficiency across all sizes.

Start of operations

Delivered and commissioned our first commercial system (HC750), which went straight to work offshore — proving market readiness and customer confidence.

HC1100

Launched our second-generation commercial unit, increasing payload and operational versatility for heavy-lift and subsea markets.

Industry recognition

Awarded the Maritime Innovation Award 2024, recognizing the breakthrough impact and proven performance of our BHC technology.

SealinQ launch

Expanding beyond hardware: the launch of SealinQ, a digital network solution connecting offshore equipment and operations, enabling smarter, data-driven offshore workflows.

Future plans

Seaqualize is scaling up, with commercial BHC units operating offshore, partnerships forming across wind, oil & gas, and marine construction, and a digital roadmap (SealinQ) unlocking new recurring-revenue opportunities.
Each milestone builds on the last — from concept to commercial reality — establishing Seaqualize as the leader in next-generation motion compensation.
